You know it's something special when your twelve year old son notices your knitting on a chair and says, "Wow, Mom, that's a beautiful shawl!" I have to agree with Gideon, this may be one of the prettiest things I've ever knitted. The pattern is Lilli Pilli, and an extremely enjoyable knit. The lace is just the sort I love to do- pretty easily memorized, and logical, and yet makes such a beautiful, structured fabric. Contrasted with easy striped garter stitch, and I am having an extremely fun time with this.
Ah, this will always be how I think of Grace- pushing the boundaries of acceptability into the realm of extreme cuteness. Only Grace would think of putting curlers in the two year old's extremely fine, and short, hair. We can barely put a little hair clip in, much less think of doing curlers. But Grace found a way.
